Emotional Intelligence Skills Programme

5-week course delivered in Plymouth

Develop the skills to better understand, manage, and respond to your emotions in a supportive and welcoming group environment.

Our 5-week Emotional Intelligence Skills Programme is designed to help participants build practical strategies for improving emotional wellbeing, resilience, and relationships. Through a combination of guided discussions, interactive exercises, and evidence-based techniques, you'll learn how to navigate difficult emotions with greater confidence and self-awareness.

Each weekly 2-hour session provides opportunities to learn new skills, reflect on personal experiences, and practice techniques that can be applied in everyday life. Participants are encouraged to set personal goals between sessions and complete simple weekly activities to reinforce learning and support lasting change.

Throughout the programme, we will explore:

  • Understanding emotions and emotional dysregulation

  • Building emotional awareness using tools, such as the Emotion Colour Wheel

  • Healthy coping strategies for managing distress and crisis situations

  • Mindfulness skills, including Wise Mind and grounding techniques

  • Challenging unhelpful thoughts and checking the facts

  • Managing loss, emotional avoidance, and difficult life experiences

  • Developing self-validation, self-compassion, and resilience

  • Learning practical emotional regulation skills, such as Opposite Action, Radical Acceptance, and Cope Ahead

  • Strengthening interpersonal skills, healthy boundaries, and effective communication

  • Creating realistic SMART goals and a personalised plan for maintaining emotional wellbeing beyond the course

This programme is interactive, supportive, and non-judgemental. Group discussions are guided by experienced facilitators who work to create a safe and respectful space where everyone feels comfortable participating at their own pace.

By the end of the programme, participants will have developed a personalised toolkit of emotional regulation strategies, increased self-awareness, and greater confidence in managing life's challenges.
