Move for Your Mind
6-Week Women’s Strength & Wellness Group
Looking for a supportive way to get moving, build strength, and boost your energy? Join our 6-week women’s group at the Central Park Hub, designed to help you ease into regular exercise while having fun and connecting with others.
Each 90-minute session combines gentle mobility, strength exercises, and cardio with a short, bite-sized psychoeducation portion covering topics like motivation, exercise and self-regulation, and stages of change. You’ll build confidence in your fitness, improve flexibility, and discover how movement can support your overall wellbeing—physically and mentally.
Most importantly, this program is about connection and community. Share the journey with other women, celebrate progress together, and enjoy a space where encouragement and support are at the forefront.
Group format:
Move for Your Mind is a six-week course consisting of 6 x 1.30-hour sessions (one per week). Each session will include 45-60 minutes of guided physical exercise suitable for all fitness levels. We will also be covering 10–15 minutes of psychoeducation to support motivation and mindset. The final 30 minutes of the session will feature social time for coffee, chat, and community building. Whether you’re returning to exercise or trying something new, this program is your bridge to a healthier, stronger, and more energised you.
Participants are recommended to wear loose, comfortable clothing and to bring along a water bottle. Any equipment needed for the sessions will be provided. This group costs £20, and registration and an upfront payment are required in order to join.
Please note: You do not have to be of any particular level of fitness. Each session will be inclusive of all levels of fitness and can be adapted and taken at your own pace.

Not at all. Many people joining will be new to strength training or returning to movement after a break. The focus is on building confidence, supporting your wellbeing, and creating a welcoming environment where everyone can participate in a way that feels comfortable.
-
To maintain a supportive and consistent group environment, we are unable to accept new participants once the 6-week course has begun. However, we hope to run future groups, so keep an eye out for upcoming dates.

We are asking participants to commit to attending all 6 sessions. However, we understand that life happens, and you might need to miss a session. Each session will still be accessible if you return the following week.

No prior experience with weights is needed. The exercises will focus on functional strength and mobility, using bodyweight and light equipment where appropriate. The emphasis is on learning good movement patterns, building confidence, and progressing at a pace that feels right for you.
-
It’s a mix of both. The movement portion helps build strength, mobility, and fitness, but the programme also includes short wellbeing discussions around topics like motivation, habit-building, and how exercise can support mental health. The aim is to support your overall wellbeing, as well as your physical fitness.
