Bishop Fleming quiz night raises over £5,000 for Devon Mind

Earlier this month (Tuesday 1st November), Bishop Fleming hosted its annual interactive quiz night to raise money for its chosen charity of the year, which for 2022/23 is Devon Mind! The firm, which also served as one of two headline sponsors of the recent inaugural Plymouth Harbour 10K, invited businesses from across Plymouth to submit teams for the quiz, which was hosted at Plymouth Argyle’s Club Argyle Lounge.

Over 130 contestants from various organisations across the city packed out the beautiful Argyle conference centre, which also played host to a raffle in aid of the charity. The night was a huge success for all involved, as a total of £5,665 was raised for Devon Mind from entry fees and raffle ticket sales. Winning the quiz was the team representing local solicitors firm Wolferstans, just ahead of a team submitted by Argyle itself. Several members of the Devon Mind team also took part in the quiz (just for fun of course), finishing a very respectable 13th out of 34 entrants!

Danielle Coleman, Marketing & Fundraising Assistant at Devon Mind, commented about the event:

It was great to be a part of such a fun event that was very generously supported by so many local people and businesses. Everyone was in great spirits, and after some friendly competition our Devon Mind team were proud to come a respectable 13th! A massive thank you to everyone at Bishop Fleming for hosting such a wonderful evening and raising an incredible amount that will enable us to continue supporting local people with their mental health.

Craig Sullivan, Partner at Bishop Fleming, added:

We were delighted to hold our annual charity quiz this year in aid of Devon Mind. After a prolonged break due to the COVID pandemic, it was great to see such a good turnout from so many local businesses enabling us to raise a significant amount for the charity. It is always a pleasure to help raise money for Devon Mind, being such a worthwhile and vital cause for our community.
