Listening, Learning, and Shaping Our Services Together
At the heart of our work is a commitment to ensuring that our decisions are informed by evidence, guided by community need, and shaped by the voices of people with lived experience of mental ill health. Earlier this year, we launched our Client Survey to gather feedback from individuals who accessed our services during 2025. We wanted to better understand their experiences, hear their ideas, and learn how we can continue to improve our support offer to meet the needs of our community.
We would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who took the time to share their experiences with us. Your feedback is invaluable. Over the past few months, we have carefully reviewed and reflected on the insights provided, helping us identify areas of strength as well as opportunities for growth. The full findings are featured in our Impact Report 2025, which provides a deeper insight into the difference our services are making and the priorities that will shape the future of Devon Mind.
When asked how we could improve our support offer, several key themes emerged:
More drop-in spaces
Increased opportunities to connect with others
Accessible self-help resources
Swimming groups in Plymouth
Support for neurodiversity and ADHD
One-to-one support outside of standard working hours
Grief and bereavement support groups
These suggestions provide valuable direction for the future of our services and highlight the current diverse needs of the people we support.
Our Goals for 2026
In response to the feedback received, we are committed to:
Strengthening Co-Production
Increasing engagement with service users and the wider community, with a particular focus on co-production, so that people actively influence the design, delivery, and evaluation of our services.
Expanding Self-Help Resources
Developing and promoting accessible online self-help resources that empower individuals to manage their wellbeing independently and access support when they need it.
Improving Accessibility
Continuing to increase the accessibility of our services within the community, ensuring that all service users can access support in ways that meet their needs.
Growing Volunteering Opportunities
Developing meaningful volunteering opportunities that enhance service delivery, strengthen community involvement, and support individuals on their personal development and recovery journeys.
