Partnership with local inclusive rugby club

Founded in August 2021, Plymouth Dolphins RFC is an award-winning inclusive rugby team that is affiliated with the Devon RFU and a registered member of the IGR (International Gay Rugby). Plymouth Dolphins RFC currently holds the titles of the 2024 and 2025 champions in both the Southern Merit League and IGR National Merit League.

The local sports club offers a safe, supportive, and enjoyable space that brings players together to share in the joy of rugby and is proud to welcome anyone regardless of their experience, ability, age, ethnicity, religion, sexuality, or gender identity.

We are delighted to have been selected as one of their charitable partners for the current and upcoming 25/26 seasons, alongside Andy’s Man Club and Marbles Lost and Found. Check out our Devon Mind logo impressively featured on the back of their newly branded kit below!

Later this month, the club will be taking part in Europe's largest annual inclusive rugby tournament. We would like to wish the team the very best of luck at the IGR Union Cup 2025, which commences on May 29 in Oslo. We are proud of our partnership with the Plymouth Dolphins RFC and are excited to explore different ways Devon Mind can collaborate and support the club.

How to get involved in the inclusive rugby team:

The club currently plays and trains as First, Development, and Gender-Inclusive Touch Teams, and training sessions take place every Wednesday at 6.15pm — 8:00pm.

  • From February 2025 — September 2025 at Plympton Victoria RFC

  • From September 2025 — February 2026 at Ivybridge Rugby Club

Training is open to everyone, inclusively for all abilities, and you will get to build your skills and learn something new every week. Home games and away fixtures commence throughout the season, with contact games usually played on Saturday afternoons in the winter, and touch rugby played in the summer. The first month’s membership is free and £15.00 per month once you have joined. This includes: training sessions, official team kit for matches, playing in official and friendly matches, insurance and affiliation fees, etc.

The team is passionate about promoting equality and diversity in rugby and welcomes anyone who would like to learn and play in an inclusive, fun, and supportive team environment. For more information about the club and how you can join, visit the Plymouth Dolphins RFC website here.
