The Winning Mindset Leads Conversation on Mental Health in Sport at Exeter University
The recent Mental Health in Sport Talk, held on Thursday 12 February 2026 at the University of Exeter, raised a fantastic £412.43 for Devon Mind. A big thank you to everyone who attended, supported, and helped make the evening such a success.
Hosted at St Luke’s Campus, the evening brought together an inspiring panel of speakers, Isaac Kenyon, Issy Bailey, Beth Murphy, and Jess Smiles, who shared thoughtful and honest reflections on the realities of mental health in sport and their firsthand experiences building their own mental strength. Their openness encouraged important and powerful conversations about resilience, pressure, and protecting mental wellbeing both on and off the field.
Members of our team were delighted to be there in person and see the positive impact of the event. It was inspiring to see students, athletes, and the local community come together in support of better mental health. We’re truly grateful to The Winning Mindset for organising such a meaningful and impactful evening and to everyone who helped raise vital funds to support our work across Devon.
“As a student-led event team, we were really proud to organise a Mental Health in Sport talk and see so many people come together to support such an important and enlightening conversation. The event meant a lot to us, and we’re delighted that we were able to raise over £400 for Devon Mind. It shows how powerful student initiatives and open discussions around mental health in sport can be, especially for young adults.”
