Two Incredible Cycling Feats for Mental Health Awareness
We want to extend a huge thank you to the teams at Peter Betteridge and Mount Kelly for choosing to support Devon Mind during their recent cycling challenges. Their collective efforts raised an incredible amount of funds for our vital local support services across Devon. Both teams set ambitious goals, all while championing better mental health, and we’ve been truly inspired by their dedication and enthusiasm. This generous support will make a real difference, helping us reach even more people across our community.
Peter Betteridge: 500 Miles for Mental Health
Congratulations to the Peter Betteridge team, who completed their 500-mile in-store cycling challenge and raised an amazing £2,220.88 for Devon Mind. Both the Kingsbridge and Honiton in-store teams took part in the challenge, which was also generously supported by the store’s suppliers.
Speaking about the challenge, Andy, Sales Administrator, said: "It was a great opportunity to give ourselves a physical boost for the start of the year, but also to think about all other aspects of our health. We are so happy to have helped support and hopefully instill some of the same in others!"
Mount Kelly: 24 Hours, 5,065km
Congratulations to the team at Mount Kelly, who completed an incredible 24-hour cycling challenge on Tuesday 3 February 2026, covering 5,065 km (the equivalent distance from Tavistock to Boston), raising over £2,152 for better mental health.
An amazing 192 pupils and 22 staff members took part in this collective effort, with the school’s six houses competing for the trophy. Well done to Team Courtenay for coming out on top! We were privileged to meet the team in action and were truly inspired by their teamwork, determination, and commitment to raising awareness of mental health.
