With You in Mind: Exploring Women’s Mental Health

Exploring and sharing ideas with others who identify as female

Course overview:

I feel this course is so useful to many of us who recognise that everyone has mental health, but the key thing is to work out the difference between ‘good mental health’ and ‘poor mental health’. The facilitators here are extremely helpful and understanding, and share so much of their knowledge and experience. Thank you so much!

With You in Mind: Exploring Women’s Mental Health is open to anyone in Plymouth and Devon who identifies as female. It provides an opportunity to explore and share ideas about a range of subjects in a safe and supportive environment.

The subjects we will cover on With You in Mind include the following:

  1. What is mental health and why is it important? — Discussing how our mental health is just as important as our physical health, facts and figures, and what factors can affect our mental health.

  2. Mental health challenges and coping skills — An opportunity to discuss the different types of mental health challenges and what may be helpful in managing the symptoms of common mental health problems.

  3. Understanding the life stages of being a woman — Exploring the transformation of women’s bodies from menstruation to menopause and the effects on both our physical health and mental wellbeing.

  4. Self-care: What does it mean to me? — Exploring the concept of self-care. We’ll discuss how we feel about caring for ourselves and share ideas for what may work for each of us.
