Announcement: We have a new home!

We are pleased to announce that Devon Mind is moving all operations and service delivery to two new offices in Plymouth. Starting Monday 7th March 2022, we will be based at the Mannamead Wellbeing Hub, 156 Mannamead Road PL3 5QL, as well as Ernest English House on Buckwell Street PL1 2DA, in the heart of the city centre.

Why are we moving? Well, we have a dedicated page on our website which covers a few questions you may have about the move, but essentially it’s to make our services more accessible to more people, both online and offline. We are also co-locating with a number of other organisations dedicated to similar missions – providing local people with the information, advice, and support they need to improve their lives.

Our new headquarters will be at the Mannamead Wellbeing Hub

Speaking about the relocation, which ends our almost 26-year tenancy at 8 Woodside in the Greenbank area of the city, Devon Mind’s Chief Executive Officer Olivia Craig explains: “This next step in Devon Mind’s evolution involves the relocation of our services into more accessible locations for all our beneficiaries. We have outgrown our current premises, and while they have served us well for 25 years, we are incredibly excited about working alongside a range of partner agencies. We now also have an enhanced online offer which will be better facilitated in our new homes.”

Both the Mannamead Wellbeing Hub and Ernest English House also serve as the offices of another local charity, Improving Lives Plymouth, with whom we have worked on a number of projects and services already. Olivia continues: “By co-locating with a likeminded organisation, we will be able to provide more services, improve our offers, and provide extra assistance to local people who need it. We’re really excited to move in with our colleagues at Improving Lives!” Advice Plymouth, the local branch of Shelter, and other services also operate out of Ernest English House.

Many of our services will be delivered at Ernest English House, in the city centre

Alongside our main office move, we are also excited to announce the addition of two new support workers in Exeter. The new Mental Health Recovery Navigators will be based at the offices of multi-agency team Colab Exeter, focused on helping people across Exeter and East Devon to identify and access the services they need. This is just the first of many planned steps towards reaching people across Devon!

During the week of 28th February – 4th March, Devon Mind’s office will be inaccessible to the public. All services scheduled for face-to-face delivery will be moved online or postponed if this is not possible. If you have a session booked with us, we will be in touch.
