£6,794.30 Raised for Mental Health Support across Devon at Pentillie Castle
We’re incredibly proud to share that a total of £6,794.30 was raised for mental health and wellbeing services across Devon at our fundraising events held at Pentillie Castle & Estate on Saturday 14 March 2026.
Co-hosted with Cornwall Mind, the day brought together our communities in a powerful show of support for local mental health services across both counties. More than 300 people attended the Garden Open Day, while 50 amazing participants took on the Firewalk Challenge. It was truly inspiring to see so many people come together—whether by attending the open garden, donating, or bravely stepping across the fire—all to support our shared mission to ensure that no one has to suffer alone.
We’re hugely grateful to the team at Pentillie Castle for generously hosting us at their stunning 17th-century estate, and for going the extra mile by taking part in the firewalk themselves, raising over £3,600.
The funds raised will make a meaningful difference, helping us continue to provide vital mental health support to people across Devon, ensuring that more individuals can access the help they need, when they need it most. To everyone who supported the events in any way, thank you. Your generosity, energy, and compassion make all the difference. We couldn’t do this without you.
We’d also like to extend our thanks to Time4Change for hosting the firewalk, our volunteer photographer Matt Phippen for capturing the spirit of the evening so beautifully, Seasalt Cornwall for kindly providing socks for our firewalkers, and our colleagues at Cornwall Mind for their support and collaboration in delivering these events to improve mental health and wellbeing across the South West.
“What an experience! It was the most terrifying, liberating experience of my whole entire life. It really was something else. I can honestly say it was the most scary thing I have ever done in my whole life, but pride, adrenaline, and an impressive amount of sponsorship got me over the coals. What an achievement! And the support of everyone else was nothing short of amazing. I stood there crying like a baby for 20 minutes, but the encouragement and support of complete strangers was humbling! And the fact that I did all this for an amazing, worthy charity made it so much more worthwhile. Thank you for enabling me to be a part of this.”
