Please note: You do not have to be of any particular level of fitness. Each session will be inclusive of all levels of fitness and can be adapted and taken at your own pace.

  • This group costs £20 to join, and registration is required to secure your place. Please note that spaces are limited to keep the group supportive and manageable.

  • Anyone over 18 in Devon is welcome, regardless of fitness or exercise experience. The sessions are designed to be supportive, inclusive, and suitable for beginners or those returning to movement.

  • Not at all. This group is designed for all levels, especially those who are new to strength training or returning after a break. Exercises can be adapted to suit different abilities, and you are encouraged to move at your own pace.

  • Each 90-minute session includes:

    • Around 45 minutes of guided movement, including mobility, strength exercises, and gentle cardio

    • 10–15 minutes of psychoeducation, exploring topics like motivation, exercise and mood, and building sustainable habits

    • 30 minutes of social time to enjoy a drink, connect with others, and build a supportive community

    • Comfortable clothing you can move in

    • Trainers suitable for light exercise

    • A water bottle to stay hydrated

  • Not at all. Many people joining will be new to strength training or returning to movement after a break. The focus is on building confidence, supporting your wellbeing, and creating a welcoming environment where everyone can participate in a way that feels comfortable.

  • To maintain a supportive and consistent group environment, we are unable to accept new participants once the 6-week course has begun. However, we hope to run future groups, so keep an eye out for upcoming dates.

  • We are asking participants to commit to attending all 6 sessions. However, we understand that life happens, and you might need to miss a session. Each session will still be accessible if you return the following week.

  • Please let us know when you register if you have any injuries or health conditions that may affect exercise. Movements can often be adapted, but we may advise checking with your GP or healthcare professional if you are unsure.

  • No prior experience with weights is needed. The exercises will focus on functional strength and mobility, using bodyweight and light equipment where appropriate. The emphasis is on learning good movement patterns, building confidence, and progressing at a pace that feels right for you.

  • It’s a mix of both. The movement portion helps build strength, mobility, and fitness, but the programme also includes short wellbeing discussions around topics like motivation, habit-building, and how exercise can support mental health. The aim is to support your overall wellbeing, as well as your physical fitness.
